Managed the development of The Verge video apps for television. Worked cross-functionally with the development team to add new features and create the final design, legal on content rights and clearances, and photography to create original art for the app. Studio Build Manager and main point of contact for the Vox Media San Francisco studio build out. Worked with the studios team to define requirements and office ops to implement the final design. Series Development Co-created and launched Processor with Dieter Bohn. Distribution Strategy
Planned and executed the timing, release, and promotion of TechCrunch video content on multiple platforms including the website, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Worked with internal product teams to build better video tools and promotional opportunity. Generated positive and negative performance data to share with producers and sales in order to facilitate audience and monetary growth. Responsible for over $350,000 in gross monthly revenue. YouTube Search Optimization Improve video search results and discoverability. Managed and tracked video upload data. Trained producers to write descriptions, titles, and tags to improve search relevance. Oversaw the design of custom thumbnails to improve visual appeal. Coordinated between accounts to link related videos as responses. Project resulted in a twenty five percent increase in YouTube viewership over a six month period. Design Requests and Prioritization Foresaw design requests for special events, show launches, and series rebranding. Worked with the Design Lead to allocate resources to priority projects and scheduled design approvals and flight dates. Collaborated with series editors and marketing team to ensure brand changes were consistent throughout. iPhone and Android App Development Partnered with CTO to build ten show-specific mobile apps designed to transform online content into a mobile format. Wrote mobile-friendly brand messaging and worked with the design team to build platform specific graphics. YouTube Homepage Management
Managed editorial placement of all videos submitted for home page consideration by YouTube staff. Designed an approval and scheduling process for videos pending feature. Supervised schedule and published video features to the YouTube homepage at the scheduled times. In 2007, the staff selected 'Featured Videos' were the most prominent element of the homepage and averaged 10 million video views per week. Adviser to Television and Gaming Partners Met with premium Entertainment partners including Fox, CBS, Sony Television, Machinima, and Ubisoft to discuss their programming slate. Shared anecdotes for YouTube success. Advised what types of entertainment programming historically had the most success on YouTube and with digital audiences. Special Events and Promotions Management Created branding, messaging, contest rules, and production calendars for Revlon's Red Carpet Reporter, Spore's Creature Creator Dance Contest, and the 2007 YouTube Awards. Supervised external partners in promotion and execution of YouTube branded contests. Each contest attracted hundreds of entries and thousands of voters. Localization Worked on a small product team that focused on global expansion of the site. Helped launch local home pages in thirteen international markets. |
